How do I deal with players transferred to another club?
Previous  Top  Next

If a player gets transferred to another club during the season, it is important to follow the following guidelines to make sure that the player's statistics remain accurate.

Player transferred to another club in a different league
If the player has been transferred to a team that belongs to a different league (for instance, a team abroad), you don't need to do anything in the current league.

Do not delete the player as it is possible that events have been saved for that player and you would then have to delete the corresponding events in order to be able to delete the player. Deleting events would obviously affect not only the player statistics, but also the team statistics and ultimately the league statistics. It is important to never delete a player for which events have already been saved, unless you also want to delete the corresponding events.

Player transferred to another club in the same league
If the player is transferred from one club to another within the same league, let's first examine what should NOT be done.
Do NOT delete the player from the old team.
Do NOT create a new player in the new team.
Doing so would cause player statistics to become inaccurate and would create redundant data. If a player is transferred to another club in the same league, you need to assign the new team to the player in the player details.

To transfer a player from one club to another, you should use the following procedure:
1.Click Players from the main toolbar.
2.Select the team and the player to be transferred.
3.In the Player details ('General' tab), expand the team list and select the new team of the player.
4.Click Save. The player is now assigned to their new team.

By transferring a player in such a way, the player data (events like goals scored, cards, etc.) just "follow" the player. For example, the goals scored by the player with his old team will still be taken into account in the scorers table, the cards he received with his old team will still be counted in the fair-play table, etc.
